starting out young

My son and i went for a skate tonight after I finished work.

theres a new road being built not far from our place and at the moment its closed to traffic so we can skate freely without having to look for cars.

The road has a gentle slope that runs about 150mtrs you can get up to around 30ks on it so its good for my son to practice his carving in and out of the lines and cats eyes.

at 7 yrs hes pretty light so getting leverage over the trucks is a bit hard for him but hes doing ok.

I watched him get the foot brake working  mongo and natural  its good to see him do what feels right and see it work for him without the skate nazi's saying you must skate or stand or brake a certain way.

I encourage any parent out there who has a child that shows some interest in skating  to let have a go,

pad them up to the max find a nice quite place to skate and have some fun.

this a shot of my boy from a wee while back on my bombhills . he's got his own custom (GLYDE) deck now which fits his waight better.

 the outlaw was put on buy the Early skate crew here on the Goldcoast Oz.

with a good turn out and some rain  a BBQ and the cops it was a good way the spend the weekend.

unfortunately I wasnt able to stay for the whole time (new business venture kept me away)

but the guys had fun and I was able to give away a set of Kookys to the winner of the DH event

good one Jacko (Jackson Shapeira) adds another set to his collection lol.

I managed to get a couple of runs  in the wet  before it got to much you me . but the boys kept riding on,
